Group Reunion

The purpose of the Cursillo Movement is to live what is fundamental for being Christian, the love of God and neighbor, experienced through encounters with self, Christ, and others. The Precursillo and the Cursillo Weekend prepare the Cursillista for their Postcursillo, their 4th day.  The Postcursillo is structured to help the Cursillista live a more authentic, constant, and progressive Christianity.

The Group Reunion and the Ultreya are effective methods to help the Cursillista persevere in the pursuit of their ideal during their 4th Day.

And let us consider how to stir up one another
to love and good works,
not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some,
but encouraging one another…

Hebrews 10:24-25

The Group Reunion, also known as a Friendship Group, is a meeting of friends, in the name of Christ, inspired and strengthened by the Holy Spirit, sharing with one another their experiences, successes, and failures as they live their Christianity. The Group Reunion gives permanence to the grace of the Cursillo weekend. It is a group of friends working to become better Christians, and a group of Christians working to become better friends.

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Matthew 18:20

A friendship group is generally made up of 3-5 men or 3-5 women. The Group Reunion is centered on Christ by using a structured sharing of each member’s Piety, Study and Action. The group typically meets on a weekly basis.

If you are a Cursillista looking to join a Group Reunion in Utah contact the Post-Cursillo Coordinator listed on the Secretariat Members page or attend the next Ultreya near you.

Make a friend. Be a friend. Bring a friend to Christ.
